Vehicles that flee the scene. Unfortunately, we happen to see that quite often. So, what do we do? We act like police officers. We literally try and get camera footage from anywhere down the block that may have seen this fleeing car. We try and gather witnesses, and we try to piece together this puzzle. And so it becomes a situation where hopefully we can get that car. If you can’t get that car after we go through it, there is still something called UM coverage and SUM coverage, and there’s also something called MVAC. That deals with different aspects of cases where somebody might be under insured, where they have maybe a minimal policy, but your injuries are x, y, and z, which deals with some coverage, and so you could collect against your own carrier. Also, MVAC, which is where you can’t find anybody. There is a small policy that the city has in place where you can sue MVAC and at least recover something. It’s usually a 25 policy, but at least it’s something better than nothing.
